UC Davis Medical Center

UC Davis Medical Center is one of the largest, and most highly ranked health care institutions in the state of California. This medical center has a campus spread out over seven thousand acres and offers both a hospital and a MIND Institute. In addition to the hospital, the campus offers a 7,000-seat auditorium and a food service.
7,000-acre campus

The gold-plus award focuses on several key aspects of stroke care, including rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients, testing for diabetes and high cholesterol, and counseling about tobacco use. The award is awarded based on a hospital’s performance on seven achievement measures.

The most important is the door-to-needle time measure. This measure reflects the time between a stroke patient’s arrival in the hospital and the time they receive treatment with a drug to reverse the effects of the stroke.
UC Davis Children’s Hospital

UC Davis Children’s Hospital is one of the most comprehensive children’s hospitals in the Sacramento region. It offers specialized care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults. It also provides cutting-edge research and provides affordable lodging for families of hospitalized children.

UC Davis Children’s Hospital is home to a level I pediatric trauma center, which is one of only a few throughout the state. The trauma center serves as a referral resource for other hospitals in northern California and western Nevada. It is also a center for children with orthopedic conditions.
